Integrated Teaching program for 1st MBBS (Pre-Clinical) students
conducted on 09.04.2008 in the Medical Education Unit, MIMS,
Mandya.

Case: Myocardial
Infarction

MBBS Students (25 Nos) selected on voluntary basis for the
program, consisting of Group Leader, Presenters and Group Members.

Faculty (3 Nos): Subject Experts in Anatomy (Dr.M.S.Trineshwowda),
Physiology (Dr.Rajendra), Biochemistry (Dr.S.K.Mahadeva)

Component 1 - Case Presentation of Myocardial Infarction was done
by the group leader Ms. Amulya. The case file was obtained from a
patient who expired due to Myocardial Infarction and (LVF).

Presentation of Learning objectives (by Presenters):

Anatomy of the Coronary Arteries (origin, course, distribution,
dominance patterns and variations) was discussed by Mr.Dinesh.
Using Charts, Models, Specimens and coronary angiogram.

Physiology of Coronary Circulation, ECG, Echocardiogram and other
functional cardiac studies was discussed by Ms.Chitra.
♦
Biochemical investigations and their interpretation relevant to
the case of Myocardial Infarction was discussion by Ms. Akshatha.
The Group members and
faculty participated actively in the session by raising question
and clarifying doubts.
